André Hemer (New Zealand/Germany, Born in 1981) is a painter whose work explores the relations between digital media and painting. His work seizes and elevates the transformations and the exchanges that have their place between the contemporary digital image and the painting as a traditional object. He is represented by the Chalk Horse Gallery (Sydney), by the Gow Langsford Galery (Auckland) and by Bartley and Company (Wellington) in New Zealand and has an international presence. The event, ‘A Hot Mess’ is the artist’s first french exhibition, taking place within a current wave of events, as the artist will participate in no less than six exhibitions here by the end of 2015.
